Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
Total: 45 minutes to 2 hours (including marinating time)
Ingredients:
For the Bulgogi Beef:
1 lb (450g) beef (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak), thinly sliced against the grain
3 tablespoons Komodo Black Hot Sauce (for marinating the beef)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for marinating)
For the Bowl:
2 cups cooked white or brown rice (sticky rice works great)
1/2 cup kimchi (store-bought or homemade)
2-3 scallions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
1-2 tablespoons Komodo Red Hot Sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
Instructions:
For the Bulgogi Beef:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a mixing bowl, combine Komodo Black Hot Sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and sesame seeds. Stir until everything is well combined.
Marinate the Beef:
Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a more intense flavor.
For the Bowl:
Cook the Rice:
While the beef marinates, cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside.
Cook the Bulgogi Beef:
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef (with the marinade) to the pan. Stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until the beef is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
Assemble the Bowl:
Spoon the cooked rice into individual bowls.
Top with the cooked bulgogi beef.
For the Toppings:
Add the Kimchi:
Add a spoonful of kimchi to each bowl, either on the side or mixed into the rice.
Garnish:
Top with fresh, sliced scallions and sesame seeds for extra crunch and flavor.
Drizzle with Komodo Red Hot Sauce:
Drizzle Komodo Red Hot Sauce over the beef for an extra spicy kick.
Serve:
Serve the bulgogi bowls with extra Komodo Red Hot Sauce on the side if you want an even spicier experience!
